While most piercing types have their roots as far as even ancient history, tongue web piercing is rather contemporary. While it appeared on the scene in the 1990s no one is exactly sure of its origins story. You may also come across of it being named “The Marley” or lingual frenulum; again there is no true explanation for that either.
