When I first decited to get my snakebites done a few people I knew had them done and i thought they looked really kool. When I called my tattoo artist he said we would have to set something up and he would get back to me withen a day or so. He clled me lator that same day and we sratred talking about days I could meet with the piercier. It toook a couple of weeks for us to both have the same availible time opening.
I will admit that the right one hurt alot more ( he did the left one first) than the left. The piercier noticed it because of how I flinched. It felt really wierd for the first few days but I got used to having them.
I first was pierced with standard 14 gauge studs with medium sized silver balls. After a few weeks I started changing the studs to shorter studs with larger balls.
After a couple of days even though I was rinceing them with mouthwash they were really irratated but I just passed it off as a new piercing and it would subside. After a few more days it was getting better but still really sore, so i started rincign them a little more often and started drinking more water and watching what I was eating. I batteled with infection and issues for a while but I really wanted them so I just delt with the issues and was determined to keep them.
Some of the issues I was having were swelling, infection, major pain and I just delt with them ( maybe not the best way but its the way I decited to at the time) as they happend. Like using something cool to drink to sooth the pain , or eating softer foods as not to irritate the swelled or irratated ares as much.
I also have gotten alot of comments from people ( postivite and negitive) about having them but I dont care what anyone says. I just smile and say " I like them"
