My eyebrow piercings /Infomation

  • The night I got my eyebrows pierced was like ( im sure) how a lot of people got there piercings done. I was hanging out a some of my friends house and I was showing off my piercing supplies. It started off as a joke but we all decided why not lets get something pierced.

One of my friends got her Helix piercing on one ear done, and in her other ear she got her Aurical piercing. Than I decided to get my Eyebrows pierced because I have been wanting them done for a while and here was my chance.

My right one was pierced first and I had a 14 guage curved bar put in and the same bar was put in on the left. I first took my marker and located where I wanted them and I asked soemone else if the markes looked even, after we made sure they were even.  I wont lie it stung when the needle first pierced but its only for a split second than its nothing but a odd feeling having the bar there, after a good cleaning with a cue-tip and hand soap to remove any vasoline from the needle than was let that can cause some irritation in and around the piercing.

The next morning they were really sore ( but thats normal with a new piercing for a few days or more) I showered and making sure to clean them well. I make sure I clean them well and often to prevent any major infections from setting in.

If it does get infected thats ok it happends. Just make sure you are keeping them clean on a regulay basis. If you see crusty stuff around the balls dont pick it off thats your skin healing itself and covering the opening as keep out bacteria out ( even though it gets in because its your forhead  and lets face it it sweats often) and all you can do with the infection and just bear with it and make sure yr keep its clean and it will heal up in time.

The different type sof jewerly you can use in the slightly curved bar , stright barbells , slightly more curved ( normally used for navel piercings) , some use the horseshoe style or a captive ball right, but i wouldnt recomend them because it has such a big curve and migration is a much bigger risk, but they are known to be used. The ring choice is up to the person who is wearing the ring. I would suggest using a standard 14 or 16 guage. This is not a piercing that I Would be worring about guaging because you could block yr vision so I would just get it pierced just leave it the size its pierced at. You can have it going vertically through your eyebrow or horziantally above the eyebrow.

The eyerow piercing is classified as a dermial piercing because its not going through anything its under the skin. Migration ( where the body willl reject the piercing and it will actually work out of the skin) is always a big risk so you have to keep and eye on the piercing on a regular basis to make sure it is healing properly and staying were it suppose to be.

If you notice it starting to migrate out you will need to remove the piercing as soon possibile to prevent any possibile infections or skin complications. Not everyone can have a eyebrow piercing , the only to find out is to just get on and find out what will happen.
