I have been reading about this piercing (if I may use that term) and learning about how the idea came up.The idea came from the movie "The Matrix" the Prince-Nez style of no frame glasses. It was desigined by a guy who had an idea and did it to see what it was like. He claimes that it feels like wearing a regular pair of glasses. His next idea for making the glasses better would be have the set coser to the eyes
It is called the Eyeglasses Piercing. The piercing is a surface piercing going across the bridge of the top porition of the nose between the eyes. It is basically a 10g bridge piercing with an internially threaded barbell with modified L brackets that are screwed togather and fitted with lenses attached to them. Neither bone or cartilege is touched by the piercing. The nose pads hold all the weight on the nose like a regular pair of glasses.
After an extensive design and machining process the final product was formed. During the desigin process different ideas were used such as hinges, tiny magnets and angled lenses were tried but the idea to go with small screws for attaching the pieces togather. The putting on and removing process is compaired to contacts because its not very easy. Each screw has to be removed from each side of the barbell.
The after care (I would guess) would be just like a normal bridge piercing or surface piercing with a salt water rince.
I think it would be a good idea just because it looks kool. I think the concept would not be a very good idea because it is not an easy thing to remove or put back on when it is needed or when changing clothes it can be get caught and possibally rip or irritate the piercing. The bridge piercing is a very sensitive area to get pierced and having the glasses extending out from the pierced area.
