So in my past blog posts piercings had become a big part of dancing rituals and art forms. The Sun Dance ritual used nipple piercings and also pierced various other parts of their body. Gothic Belly Dancing on the other hand has its dancers with piercings and one of them was named Sashi who had "Wing Piercings" while performing her dance. But they were not the only art forms with piercings. It had also been a custom for Traditional Belly Dancers to pierce their belly button.
And yes you're right, these belly dancers have their navels or belly buttons pierced. Navel piercings have been a great way to attract attention even when you're casually wearing them. You can choose from rings and studs. But belly dancers use what are called Navel Jewels for their performances.
Navel jewels are like studs but with big stones embedded into your navel. They are a great addition to your costume when performing Belly Dancing. You can choose from a lot of Navel Jewels available online and even locally.

But like any other piercings, navel piercings also has its risks, especially if you are a dancer of performer. It is fine for people with navel piercings to dance just make sure that you don't slide frontwards or move the piercing in any way. But it is always best that you listen to your body. If you have a navel piercing and it starts HURTING WHEN YOU DANCE, STOP immediately. If you continue dancing while the piercing hurts it could lead to infection as a hurting piercing means that either the piercing is moved or the skin or flesh to which the piercing is attached is disturbed in any way.
