Piercing Tools

    Piercing has a mechanism. With the nature of piercing It may vary. Actually Piercing are done using a sharp object. Piercing is normally done using a needle, scalpel or by removing tissue.

     

    Needle:

    The most and useful tool in piercing is needle. Needle in different lengths, gauges and shapes mostly medical needles are used to make an opening in the United States. Though straight needles most ideal for piercing but manufacturer makes curved needles for the areas where straight needles can't work properly. Needle is punched with thump normally but some it needs to use needles holder or pusher. Jewellery normally put in hollow of the needles so that jewellery can put in the pierce area.

    Indwelling cannula:

    Many pierces use indwelling cannula which looks like a needles but containing a cannula, a plastic tube placed at the end of the needles. It is used as a needle is used. Just put a jewellery in the back and make a hole with indwelling cannula and place the jewellery in the piercing area. It is mostly used in ears.

     

     

    Piercing Guns:

    It is with plastic, non-autoclavable handle to be used to piercing. The professionals aren't recommended the piercing gun because it may cause of more trauma to tissue than proper piercing needles. Actually piercing gun aren't encouraged to use as it can create more hazardous for the whole piercing activity, yet most women like piercing gun to use.

     

     

    Forceps:

    Forceps another name clamps is used to hold and stabilize the tissue to be pierced. Forceps isn't use with freehand piercing but need other way. It is used when tissue tends to stabilize at piercing time i.e. it is used in tongue piercing mostly. In septum and cartridge piercing forceps are used to support the tissue at the piercing time. 

     

     

    Needle receiving tubes:

    It is a hollow tube to support the tissue at the piercing site like forceps made of metal, glass or plastic. It is normally used in septum and cartridge piercing. It mainly helps to receive the needles offering protection from sharp point.

     

    Anaesthesia:

    It is topical or injected. Pierces and other non-medical personnel aren't approved to use anaethesia in U.S.A.

     

    Cork:

    Cork is used to receive the needles placed just opposite side of the body being pierced. Dermal punch:To remove the circular area of tissue, dermal punch is used. It is useful for larger cartridge piercings.

    Rose Mendlewood I really did get traumatized because after piercing my ear using a piercing gun i got an infection a couple of days after.
