Anti-tragus piercing is a variety of ear piercing that is performed through the folded edge of cartilage on the external side of the ear. This position is placed just to the opposite of tragus.
The size of anti-tragus varies to people and some even have too small anti-tragus to have pierce. Besides, it may be uncomfortable for some people to have this kind of piercing who have stretched earlobe piercing.


Anti-tragus piercing may take a healing period anywhere from 8 to 16 months. Proper aftercare is needed for this piercing as well to avoid any risk and for a quick healing. The wound should be cleaned regularly in appropriate manner. Warm salt water or saline solution may be used to clean the perforation. And the jewelry should not be changed until complete healing.
Curved barbell, circular barbell, and ball closure rings are frequently used as jewelry in this piercing. If ones anti-tragus is relatively smaller, they can use micro jewelry.
