If you decide to get your tongue pierced, be sure to follow these guidelines:
• Be sure that the body art studio is licensed and established
• Make sure that their rooms are well lighted for the procedure
• You don’t want complications, so make sure the rooms are clean and neat
• Make sure all instruments are sanitized; all gloves must be new, and needles used are disposable
• Don’t go for piercing guns, they are known to cause greater tissue damage
• Take ibuprofen before the procedure to minimize pain and reduce the amount of swelling -

Sure, It's a sensitive issue of tongue piercing. But pretty much if you aren't eating spicy, acidic or sharp. Just remember to chew carefully because your tongue will be swollen for a day or two. Every time you eat or drink anything that's not water -- rinse your mouth with Listerine mouthwash. Yeah you should carry a bottle with you because you're going to need it! The Listerine helps kill the germs, so ice cream & such are okay.
After a few days, you won't even notice the bar in your tongue and you'll go back to eating normally. For maintenance care, you need to remove the bar once every few days and swish your mouth with Listerine without the bar in. Every day, brush your teeth like normal and use Listerine or your favorite mouthwash to clean your mouth and to kill germs. -

Maybe it will be healed within 2-6 weeks. If you follow instruction properly and take time-to time medicine your tongue will get well within 3 weeks.
However to heal fast, you should strictly avoid the followings:
1) Hard and spicy foods.
2) You should also avoid hot foods
3) Keep foreign objects out of your mouth
4) Avoid smoking and drinking anything with alcohol

As I am a young boy, I inform you that when my girlfriend kissed me before piercing her tongue, I just feeling sucking her tongue. But After piercing her tongue I do enjoy that there has an extra feelings which I haven't ever get. It simply says that kissing with girlfriend who has tongue pierced, AWESOME!!! Lets do it. Make it more enjoyable to your boyfriend.

The best thing you can do for a fresh tongue piercing is avoid Beer and yeast based alcohols as it can potentially cause a serious yeast infection. Yes, IN YOUR MOUTH. Yes, it's every bit as disgusting as it sounds. Generally, spicy foods will irritate it; also tomato based sauces. Noodles can be hard to manage at first. Dairy products are up for debate, though I've never had any trouble with it. Primary risks are infection (good piercer, good aftercare, no problem) and general discomfort with can be alleviated by several means. Midol is actually totally amazing for tongue swelling. As for healing - yes, everyone is different, 4-6 weeks is about average with some minor swelling and discomfort for the first 1-2 weeks being quite common. Find a piercer in your area and they will be more than happy to walk you through all the ins and outs of the piercing you desire.
